Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Technical Lead to join our dynamic IT team. As the Data Science Technical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of data science solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data science initiatives.
3. Design and implement end-to-end data science solutions, including data collection, preprocessing, analysis, modeling, and deployment.
4. Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns, trends, and insights, and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Develop and deploy statistical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems and optimize decision-making processes.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science techniques, tools, and technologies, and identify opportunities for their application within the organization.
7. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data used for analysis by implementing robust data quality assurance processes.
8. Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure effective integration of data science solutions into existing systems and infrastructure.
9. Provide thought leadership and contribute to the development of data science strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
10. Act as a subject matter expert in data science, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A master's or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
2. Proven experience (X+ years) working in a data science role, with a strong focus on statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
3. Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL.
4. In-depth knowledge and experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling, clustering techniques, and time series analysis.
5. Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, including but not limited to decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, and neural networks.
6. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js, and the ability to create clear and compelling visualizations.
7. Proficiency in working with big data platforms and frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, or TensorFlow.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business problems, design innovative data science solutions, and communicate findings effectively.
9. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of data scientists.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
